and was name "Mr Football." He was also featured in an ESPN documentary "Mr Tebow, The Chosen One." He plaed for the Florida Gators 2006-2009 and in 2007 became the first sophomore to ever win the Heisman Trophy. He was also known to be very expressive about his Christian faith, his parents being missionaries. In 2009 he owned five NCAA records including passing efficiency and completion. He also placed bible verses on his eye ink (normally used to keep down glare from the sunlight) and one time this generated more than 90 million google searches for John 3:16, "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son..." Thus the NCAA passed the "Tebow Rule" which banned messages on eye ink, even though the NCAA denied that Tebow caused it and that it would have happened anyway. He later said, "It just goes to show you the influence and the platform that you have as a student-athlete and as a quarterback at Florida". In the NFL Tebow ended up playing for the Denver Broncos in 2011 and they made it to the playoffs, hosting the Pittsburg Steelers. During that game something unusual happened related to the John 3:16 that Tim used to wear under his eyes. For one, he threw for a career high 316 yards. Secondly, he set an NFL receord for yards per completion at 31.6. Third, the Nielson ratings for the game peaked at 316 million people watching! John 3:16 became the most searched item on Google the next morning, but the Broncos were given a 45-10 defeat the next week by the New England Patriots. Tebow had two lackluster years after that, for the Jets and the Patriots, then went into broadcasting but citing that he still wanted to be a quarterback. In a 2011 game he was photographed with one knee down in a posture of prayer and this became a popular photo and a form of prayer nicknamed "Tebowing." (above left) ~~~
