Robert P. "Fuzzy" Vandivier (December 26, 1903 – July 30, 1983) was a state champion for Indiana's Franklin High three years in a row in the 1920's.
He lead the "Wonder Five" for an 89-5 record and is considered the greatest Indiana high school team of all history. Later he returned as coach of the same team from 1926-1944.

Quinn Buckner was born in 1954 in Phoenix Illinois, and won back to back state championships for the Thornbridge HS Falcons in _____ The 1972 team is often said to be the greatest team in Illinois history, having gone undefeated. Buckner was named Chicago player of the year in basketball and football, the only person ever to do that. In 2006 he was also voted as one of the 100 Legends of the IHSA Boys Basketball Tournament. In 1976 he won the Olympic gold, and in 1982 he was traded to the Boston Celtics and they won the NBA title in 1986 against the Lakers. Said Red Auerbach of the Boston Globe, "He’s a winner, a leader. He rises to the occasion. He has a good personality, he’s team oriented, and he’s disciplined."
Candace Parker attended Naperville Central High School in Illinois where she led her basketball team to two straight championships in 2003-4. Her signature move was the dunk, of which she said, ""The first two times I tried it in games I failed. Embarrassing! The third time was a charm and then cameras and reporters were everywhere—everyone wanted to talk about dunking." USA Today name her Player of the Year in '03 and '04, the only two-time person to ever receive the award.
She played NCAA ball and led Tennessee to the title in '98, being Most Outstanding Player, later helping the US National Team win gold in the 2008 Olympics.
